 The depiction of Japanese plums that creates an old-fashioned atmosphere is striking.

It looks like a snow man kokeshi, the shape is very cute.

But it's not a snow man, and this type of kokeshi is called ”Ejiko”.

The ejiko (Japanese cradle made of straw etc.) has been widely used among the rural villages in the northern part of honsyu area, Japan. When farmers are busy for farm work, they would keep their babies in the baskets as  cradle at the fields.
